The Angels Network
The Angels Network is a diverse, caring group of women who give what they can, when they can – to those in need – making a direct impact on the community and having fun while doing it. Their support is focused on programs that provide safe, supportive and supervised living arrangements for homeless women and children; helping them build self-reliant futures to move forward in their lives and careers. On March 12th at Commerce Bank in Tysons Corner, The Angels Network held a fundraising event in support of The Dwelling Place. There was a wine tasting, delicious hors’ oeuvres, a silent auction, and a raffle. A former client from The Dwelling Place said a few words and let the 65+ individuals present know about the work done for homeless families by the program. Through individual donations made at the reception and through corporate donations made to The Angels Network (a component fund of the Northern Virginia Community Foundation), The Dwelling Place will receive a monetary grant of $10,000! Plus The Angels Network donated nearly $1,000 worth of Shoppers Food Warehouse gift cards, metro cards, fashion accessories and jewelry.
The Angels Network has “adopted our organization” into their three year fundraising program. So look for events in 2009 & 2010 as we continue to benefit from this dedicated group of women.
